You guys. Mary knew. She knew exactly who Jesus was and what he was sent to do. The angel was VERY CLEAR.
But I think just like any mom, Mary surely kept being amazed, and humbled, and fearful, and delighted, over and over again, by the responsibility given her to raise the little boy who was sent to become the Savior of the world.
I hope I never stop being amazed, humbled, trusting in spite of my fear, and delighted over and over by the ways God continues to show up in my life too. It’s a relief that – just like Mary – I can be my flawed human self and God in his endless mercy believes in me.
I always feel near to heaven on Christmas. So I’m trusting that every step I take in faith and love, not just today but every day, brings me that much closer to meeting Jesus and my little boy face to face. What a day that will be.
And until that day, everything and everyone I’ve got here is pretty spectacular.
Merry Christmas, friends. I’m so thankful for you.
