Impossible things

By Jessica Allen

February 16, 2023

You’ve made it through every impossible minute you’ve ever faced, with a 100% success rate.

You’ve made it because of grit and tears and sheer rage-filled determination, buoyed by the support of loving people, and sometimes carried by the grace of God alone.

You’re still here. And that means there’s something still in store for you to do.

But.

Maybe that something you’re supposed to do is not to be done today. Maybe today is for simply making it. Today is for trusting that every knotted string will someday untangle, and that every one of your aching wounds will eventually heal. Today is for believing that there is light to be found, even if it feels very far away; even if finding light seems impossible.

Maybe today is for doing one more impossible thing. You’ve done it before, and you can do it again.
